This came on this morning, along with a CEL and 3 codes. It still runs, just crappy. All signs point to the DPF being borked.
Blah.

But seriously though, I hope your troubles are small and you can get your truck up and running fast and cheaply!

I agree with the Pip Bip. Take her out on the highway and run her hard for an hour. Do a full regen cycle and see how it works out. We had 80k on our Chevy duramax with DEF system and never had any issues.

Emissions systems are covered until 50k, engine until 100k. So, should not be an issue outside of dealing with the dealership to get it fixed.

Yep, did that today and it seemed better afterwards. Its the CEL and codes that I’m more worried about. It hasn’t given any problems except in the past week or two since the temp has been extremely cold. It usually gets beat on quite aggressively in the summer pulling my toy hauler, but is only driven empty in the winter.

DPF delete and a tune should fix all those issues.

Come to where I work. I’ll make sure you get the Royal Treatment.
(I.e. the owner is going on vacation so we’re gonna have the run of the place for the next few weeks)

I am guessing you have a Ram, have you had the exhaust recall done yet? My Ram has had this issue several times, had the exhaust replaced before the redesign, and will still need the recall done myself. There was a redesign on the DEF injection locations.

Mine is a 2016, so should have the “good” exhaust. It is subject to the open water pump recall though, just waiting for parts to get in.

As a diesel tech for a freight company. Dealing with cummins and detroit, if outside warranty, may god have mercy on your soul.
